Quick Description
This improv games is fast and clever. Players take turns saying the things that the worlds worst (insert profession here) might say.
How to play
The players line up on the stage.
The players ask the audience to call out a profession.
The players take turns stepping forward and acting as if they are the worst [name of profession] ever.
Example
Profession: Improviser
Player 1: No! But!
Player 2: May I have a suggestion of something funny to say?
Player 3: (speaking really fast) Hey guys, what’s going on? Oops, no questions in improv right… so let’s do some space object work. I’m holding a garden hose… and… I’m watering the lawn… oops, I’m talking out loud… er… uh…
And so on….
Notes
This is a joke format. No scene here. You might be able to see some character work as the players create the world’s worst [profession].
One of the benefits of this game is it can lower the stress levels of the participants. It’s easier to do bad improv than good improv. This can work well in corporate workshops too.
Variation
This is similar in style to 185 Blanks walk into a Bar and Sex with me is like.... Players line up on stage and come up with short clever things to say.
For Theatersports™ and other team formats this game can be used as a toss up challenge.
This game is similar to an improv exercise called “What could be worst? What could be better?” Which takes any normal situation and repeatedly asks the question, “What could be worst?” or “What could be better?”
Origin
I don’t know where this game originated. It’s been around for years and years. If you have any information about it’s origin, please contact me. Thanks.
