The Short Description
Players improvise a musical and whenever the bell rings the players need to jump to another scene in the story.
Musical Move on
To play “Musical Move On” the players begin improvising a musical. Every time the bell sounds the players time-jump to the next scene.
The time jump to the next scene can involve a jump of a few moments or years and it can be forward or backwards. It can also involve different players.
The time jump may involve new cast members. For example, when the bell rings, the music stops and one cast member on stage runs off and one cast member off stage runs on. The new scene will involve a time jump AND different cast members.
Note
The jump in time can be called by the host/Emcee, another player or an audience member (by giving them the bell).
This is a fun game to jump the story to the action.
When the bell rings, players can simply walk off stage or players that were off stage can walk on stage. The combination of confidence and the unknown is exciting.
Consider getting a simple suggestion from the audience to start the musical (Time period, Lead Character’s name, The title of the opening number). Too many suggestions added to the move on requirement may complicate the story.
This is the musical variation of the Improv Game Move On. Move on works the same way except there is no musical.
