Quick Description
Players improvise a musical. The singing is provided off stage by other players.
How to Play
In this improv game one group of players asks another group of players to “Dub Our Musical.”
One team or group âacts outâ a musical while the other team provide the songs.
Often the ‘singers’ are off stage and use microphones.
A very cooperative challenge.
It is a cooperative game… although the singers can drive the action of the story… just as much as the actors can drive the action. Yep… one group has words the other group has actions.
Variation
An audience member is in the scene and a player dubs their singing. This game is sometimes called “Musical Dubbing.”
This game feels like Stunt Double. [I’ll write that up and post it here.]
Note
This challenge shares responsibility for the scene between the two players. This technique is used for many improv games. By sharing the content it’s easier to be relaxed and easier to be creative. There is a direct relationship between being relaxed and being creative. Pressure and fear lead to stress, and stress manifests in the body as tension and that is restrictive.
Origins
I don’t know where this game came from. If you know…please contact me.  Thanks.
