Quick Description
One player writes in a diary and narrates aloud. Another player calls time jumps.
How to Play
To play Dear Diary game, have one player sit in a chair center stage and write an entry in an invisible [space object] diary.
The Player narrates aloud by starting with the phrase “dear diary” and continues with the entry.
From time to time another player calls out a time jump. And the player turns the page and starts again with the same phrase; dear diary.
For example:
- Next Day
- 2 weeks from now
- One year later
- One hour later
With each time jump call, the player turns a page and begins the entry for that day with the words, “dear diary”.
Notes
Call the time jumps when you see the writer struggling with the entry or if you want the player to explore another aspect of the subject in the diary.
After a while you’ll find the right moment for a black out.
Another way to end is to make a big time jump into the future.
