How to Play
To establish a theme for the puns, the players get an occupation for the deceased/victim.
The players line up and step forward and say a pun that involves the occupation and the death.
It may help to imitate David Caruso, the actor from CSI: Miami TV show. He often pauses dramatically, puts his glasses on and then finishes the one liner.
If the audience laughs, the musical improviser plays the Roger Daltry scream from the soundtrack for CSI Miami Vice. If the audience does not laugh, the musical improviser plays a different song.
Example of Puns
Fireman.
“It looks like this guy (puts on glasses dramatically) met his match!”
“It looks like this is one fireman (puts on glasses dramatically) that just got fired!”
Notes
CSI Miami ran from 2002 to 2012. With 232 episodes. And in each one the lead detective said at least one one-liner.
To see clips of David Caruso search YouTube. This collection of one liners has been viewed over 7 million times, how is that for popularity?! Clips.
You don’t need sunglasses to do this game, you can mime the glasses.
Sometimes it is played with the glasses coming off as a flourish to finish the pun.
This is a joke format similar to 185 Blanks. No narrative here.
